🚒 Rewley Rd Fire Station Open Day
Our fave! See brand new fire trucks and have a peek at Oxford from the top of the hydraulic ladder (weather permitting. There’s demonstrations including car crashes and house fires plus plenty to do with the kids including “soak the firefighter” stand and hide and seek with Drago the dragon! BBQ and refreshments stand too. Rewely Rd Fire Station really know how to put on an open day!

🥾Oxford Castle Mound open for free
Open for free! Climb the mound of the 11th-century motte-and-bailey castle with its 13th-century well chamber. The view from the top is fabulous!

🧪 Old Rd Campus Research Building
An array of internationally renowned scientists are looking forward to showing their biomedical research work to the public. There will be an array of activities, demonstrations and tours designed to interest all age groups from children to adults.

Open to the public! Come and enjoy a garden trail, garden games and a ‘make your own manor’ craft activity for children. Lots of space to run around and you are welcome to bring a picnic.

Customise your old t-shirts and tote bags to give them a new lease of life at this pop-up silk-screen printing workshop at Oxford Castle. This workshop is designed to be accessible for complete beginners and all ages so will be good fun whatever your level of experience.

🤝 Old Schoolhouse Community Day
A much loved event in East Oxford to bring the community together. Bouncy castle, face painting and origami and games & crafts corner for toddlers. There’s also a craft fair, portrait corner and free taster sessions from community groups.

🚀 Green Templeton College Space-themed activities
Step inside the beautiful eighteenth-century Radcliffe Observatory and marvel at it’s connection to astronomy. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the universe through hands-on activities and demonstrations, as well as exhibits on exoplanets and the solar system. Family -friendly activities galore!

Free tours every 20 minutes from 10am – 5pm! Take a step back in time and explore 1000 years of Oxford city’s fascinating and ancient history. The Castle Mound is also open all day and free – great views from the top!

💨 Wheatley Windmill open day
A lovely local windmill experience! One of only two working windmills in Oxfordshire – don’t miss this opportunity to climb to the top and savour the views! The mill is dated to at least 1671 and was left in various states of ruin before being restored by a dedicated group of volunteers: Wheatley Windmill Restoration, then Preservation, Society. Come hungry because fundraising coffee, tea and cakes are on offer!
