🚜Sandy Lane Farm: Open Day

I love this place. I mean REALLY love this place. If you follow them on Facebook you will see how mindful they  are in their farming practices, they really love and nurture the land. It’s your hance to peak into farm life with loads of activities including sheep shearing and farrier demos, tractor tours, tours of the market garden and more. Farmability will be there with children’s activities and there are plenty of coffee and cake opps too!

📚Daunt Books: Summertown Day Festival 

Well well well, what have we here? Shennanigans to kick off Indy Bookshop Week. Yep, we’re here. Gallop your way into Daunt’s garden – never seen before and newly opened – where you will find many of your favourite Oxford authors – including Neill Cameron – who will be celebrating storytelling. Book your spot online as some sessions are sold out already.

🗺️Thames Valley Orienteering: University Parks 

Come first, come last (like us!) Wherever you come and whatever distance you do, you’ll have fun doing it along the way. My boys love being in charge of the beeper whilst I do not love being in charge of the map. Either way, we make our way around the course and really enjoy doing it, especially in familiar places likes University Parks. Big fans of this Saturday series and easy access to orienteering for all the family.

🧱Oxford Brick Festival 

Lots to see and do including speed building competitions, large scale displays, activities, traders selling loose bricks, new LEGO sets, retired LEGO sets, minifigures & accessories plus a dedicated building area.

🌿Nature Day at Risinghurst Community Centre 

Learn about hedgehogs, frogs toads and how to create a garden that helps nature. Lots of activities for children and tea and coffee for the grown ups. Part of Oxfordshire Great Big Green Week.

☀️Cogges Farm Summer Fete

Cogges likes to keep it old school with their summer fetes and I love that. Traditional fete games, races on the lawn, mini ride on tractor race circuit, crafts, face painting, bouncy castle, trails and meet the animals. And the weather isn’t absolutely bonkers on Sunday – hurrah!

🐮Open Farm Sunday: Lacey’s Farm 

A week after the main event, but if you’ve been to one of Lacey’s Open Farm Sunday events then you will know that it IS the main event! milking demos, tractor trailer rides, meet the animals, BBQ, ice creams, coffee van, milkshake bar and more! Suitable for the whole family, but no dogs.

🛹Eynsham Skate Fest 

An epic day of skateboarding and scootering at the Eynsham SkateFest — a fun-filled community event for all ages! Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned rider, or just coming to watch, there’s something for everyone. Activities require booking.

🚂 Cutteslowe Miniature Railway

Such a lovely miniature railway experience and with the track extension it’s great value for money too. There is SO much to do at Cutteslowe park: numerous playgrounds, huge sandpit, free splash park (now open!), crazy golf, tennis courts, wildlife area, duck pond, beach volleyball court, café and more! It’s easily a whole day adventure!

🧑🏼‍🌾Bridewell Gardens Open Day

The gardens will be alive with colour as the gates are thrown open to the public for one of their much anticipated  open days. The gardens provide the ideal opportunity for children to see a wide range of plants, fruit and veg, spot dragonflies and newts in the pond, and count the chickens roaming the vineyard. 🚘 Combe Mill: The Mill at Work  

The Beam Engine and Small Industrial Steam Engines will be in operation and volunteers demonstrating in their Specialist areas. Visitors can make pokers in the forge on a first come first served basis. The tinkering area and will be open, as will the Millie the Mill Cat Trail for younger visitors.

🪩Tap Social: Big Fish Little Fish x Camp Bestival Oxford Family Rave

This event is part of the Camp Bestival warmup tour and it has serious festival vibes. Snow-foam, bubbles, giant balloons, parachute dance, craft tables, giant colouring mural, home-made play-dough and freshly cooked pizza from Proof Social Bakehouse!
