This Waterperry to Waterstock walk is relatively unknown but it’s a wonderful little stroll suitable for pushchairs and little legs.
You will pass sheep, meadows, a thatched cottage of dreams, a stream, amble over a picturesque bridge and pass an old water mill. Carry on walking for the quaint village of Waterstock or stop for a look at the horses and then turn back.
The views from Waterstock Mill and Bow bridge are idyllic; make sure to leave time to gaze out over the water or play a game of poo sticks. Incredibly, the stretch of river that runs past the mill, and the surrounding meadow, are home to more rare or endangered animals and plants than almost any other site in the county. Keep your eyes peeled for otters and their cubs splashing in the water, falcons and owls in the trees and the rapidly declining curlew bird wading through the grasslands.
If little legs aren’t tired out by this walk then head to the play area on the lawn by Waterperry Gardens café to burn off the last of the energy (ha, who am I kidding?!)
A great little walk for friends, toddlers, pushchairs, families and doggies!
