Try out this glorious walk on the Aynho to Souldern circular. It takes in the perimeter of Aynho Park, which includes deer park where you can spot some HUGE stags – there’s even a fenced viewing area that you can go into to get a better look. The walk takes in fields and woodland, lanes and village roads.
It’s short – 5.5k – and has a good few splashing opportunities too. The changing landscapes mean that you won’t get bored either. The chocolate box village of Souldern is very quaint and has the Fox Inn, which gets very good write ups, has a children’s menu and is dog friendly.
There is a short part of the walk that is on a bit of a fast B-road but there is a big grass verge to walk on and then it’s footpath.
You can eat at Aynho Park in one of the restaurants: the Orangery, the Loggia and the Conservatory – as well as a Wine Lounge, Tea Salon and Juicery. Some formal, others informal dining experiences. It looks all very fancy from the outside but we hear great things about it.
