Jessie’s Art Shed

Jessie’s Art Shed

Date of Adventure: 15 Feb, 2024

If you haven’t been to Jessie’s Art Shed in Eynsham then why not? It has something for everyone from toddler sessions all the way up to adult workshops and everything in between: parties, sit in sessions, Meet and Make socials, bullet journaling and waaaaaaay more. And the space they have created on this site – just wow!

Situated in the gorgeous village of Eynsham, Jessie’s Art Shed has a HUGE following, which is why you have to book ahead (they already have their Easter sessions online) as workshops and lessons fill up quickly. The site itself is open and colourful with bright murals on the walls, communal tables and galleries of artwork proudly displayed. Their children’s offer is so unique too: Disney characters, Harry Potter Mandrakes, Pokémon, Alien Abductions, Rockstar Guitars – where do they get these brilliant ideas from?!

My son went to a Mythical Maps session with his friend recently and loved it! He was so proud of his map and was already asking to go back for more before we were even out of the door – I’m so here for this enthusiasm! I overheard a parent at a session say that they had come from Cheltenham for a half term workshop and we travelled from Oxford for the same; that’s an impressive reach for an art shop in a small Oxfordshire Village and shows that people will travel for quality experiences.

Big shout has to go out to the husband and team Jessie and Olly who run Jessie’s Art Shed, their passion shines through in their enthusiasm and warmth. What an absolute slice of creative joy this place is!

Did you

Know?

Tracey Emin’s first British exhibition since 1997 was at Modern Art Oxford in 2002 and drew together the artist's now iconic neon wall hangings, drawings, etchings, film works, and a large scale sculpture installation of a pier and shack made from reclaimed timber.
