One to file under ‘re-visit for bluebells’, but also fits nicely under ‘brilliant run around with kids’ too.
Although relatively small, it’s only 45 hectares and a 2.2 mile flat circular loop on the path around the woods, it’s what’s inside where the magic lies; undulating landscape with huge dips and hills, rope swings, fallen trees, dens and burrows. It’s clear that this has been an awesome playground from the wheel tracks and various constructions made from branches and wood; pretty much an idyllic childhood adventure right here!
In April/ May the woods will be awash with thousands of bluebells but without the crowds that many of the bluebell hotspots come with. This place is small but mighty, now all we need to do is convince the local pub to open again for post walk roast dinners!
