The Oxfordshire Museum

The Oxfordshire Museum

Date of Adventure: 20 Dec, 2023

Dinosaur fans – this is your bag!

The dinosaur room is the star of the show here where you will find dressing up and interactive exhibits – spend hours in there feeding the dinosaurs, solving puzzles, reading books and learning interesting dino facts! The museum itself is full of interesting galleries and exhibits, many interactive, which tell the stories of the people – and animals – who have lived in Oxfordshire in the past. Visit Woodstock library whilst you are there too, it’s on the ground floor and is small but perfectly formed with a good children’s section.

Don’t forget to stop in to see the resident megalosaurus in the Dinosaur Garden just by the café, you’ll find him hidden amidst the Jurassic plants – can you spot the fossilised footprints too?

There’s all sorts of family drop-ins, and trails for children and families throughout the year and most of them are FREE! Check out their What’s on page to keep up to date.

Rear of The Victoria Arms leading to the river

Did you

Know?

Oxford Preservation Trust bought the Victoria Arms pub in 1959 to save the nearly derelict building. Now fully renovated, this rural gem re-opened in 1984. It's still standing proud and serving Oxford’s pub-goers every day!

Fancy buying me a ko-fi?

Want to support my work?

Feel free to buy me a (strong!) coffee, it will help fuel my adventures near and far. Support can come in many form though: sharing my website in your school WhatsApp group or liking a Facebook post is equally appreciated.
