🍓Rectory Farm: PYO strawberries

Today is the day! THE best summer activity – so very British. Red faces and full tummies all round! The set up is a bit different this year with a booking system and £1.25 charge starting from 17th May (school holidays and weekends only). Read our post about it which has everything broken down.

🍃Harcourt Arboretum: Spring Fair 

A celebration of spring! There will be engaging activities for all the family included with each ticket as well as access to 130 acres of woodland featuring some of the world’s rare and endangered trees…and bluebells! Cakes, food and drink from local traders mean that you won’t go hungry!

➕Oxford Maths Festival: Mathematical Mayhem at Templars Square

FREE Mathematical mayhem as the Oxford Math Festival takes over Templars Square Shopping Centre with hands-on mathematical activities for everyone to get involved in. There’s something for all, aged 3 upwards.

🎾North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club: Free tennis and padel

You’ll be able to try a wide range of racquet sports including tennis, Padel, mini-tennis, table tennis and practice against a tireless ball machine. There will be free coaching, a chance to win prizes and join the club at discounted membership rates.

🪩Family Dance Party 

Body Politic have partnered once again with Dancin’ Oxford and The North Wall to bring you a special Family Dance Party in Cutteslowe. Join for a ‘hip-hopping, toe-tapping’ daytime disco for all of the family. Featuring a live DJ, party games, bubbles and disco lights and more!

🐏 Oxford City Farm: Family Friendly Day

Lots of new animals at the farm including chicks, pigs and kids. There’s also old favourites: goats, sheep and chickens. Walk the Wildlife Walk amongst the chickens and peep at the beehives.  There’s also an area for free play and much to learn about farm to fork in the vegetable patch. Community farming – we love you!

💦Hinksey Splash Pad and Hinksey Open Air Pool 

It’s a warm one! Book yourself into Hinksey Open Air or visit the brand spanking new Splash Park and Mini Wheels Track next door is free and doesn’t require booking.

💨 Wheatley Windmill open day

A lovely local windmill experience! One of only two working windmills in Oxfordshire – don’t miss this opportunity to climb to the top and savour the views! The mill is dated to at least 1671 and was left in various states of ruin before being restored by a dedicated group of volunteers: Wheatley Windmill Restoration, then Preservation, Society. Come hungry because fundraising coffee, tea and cakes are on offer!

🌳Bridewell Gardens Open Day

💨 Combe Mill 

View the beam engine, waterwheel, small industrial steam engines and steam models. A selection of turret clocks, numerous hand tools and a range of artefacts preserved from the Victorian era. Volunteers including the blacksmiths will be demonstrating in their specialist areas and the Millie the Mill Cat trail and tinkering area for younger visitors to explore.

🪻Kingston Bagpuize House

Wisteria, magnolia, cherry blossom, camellia, clematis and more! Blooming borders and green, green grass. Tea and refreshments available…and it’s all homemade! This is in your Gardeners’ World 2 for 1 offer so do bring your card along.

🧭Thames Valley Orienteering at Cutteslowe : 17th May 

Big fans of this Saturday series and easy access to orienteering for all the family. And of course you know that we we are big fans of Cutteslowe too with the variety of activities there. Short 1.2k and 1.8k route suitable for younger children, beginners and family groups.

 

🎼Family Cushion Concert: 25th May 

The wildly popular Cushion Concerts introduce a wide variety of music and instruments to children and their families in a relaxed way.  Bring your cushions to sit on and your best singing voice, dancing feet and clapping hands!
