Wheatley Windmill

Wheatley Windmill

Date of Adventure: 9 Jul, 2023

Wheatley Windmill is one of only two working windmills in Oxfordshire. The mill is dated to at least 1671 and was left in various states of ruin before being restored by a dedicated group of volunteers: Wheatley Windmill Restoration, then Preservation, Society.

It has quite a few open Sundays scheduled for this year – write them in your diary so you don’t forget! Children are most welcome and will love climbing the three staircases up to the top of this fully restored stone tower windmill. The views from the top are quite something! Come hungry because fundraising coffee, tea and cakes are on offer 🫖 🍰
