🎾Botley Health and Wellbeing Festival
This is a new one for us…but we love the sound of it! It’s a celebration of local fitness, nutrition, mental health, therapies, social connection and more. It’s free, family-friendly, and open to everyone. There will be taster sessions, pop-up stalls and local therapists and wellbeing providers offering demos and advice. Loads of family games all day! The skate park is there for the enjoying too!

🎥The Ultimate Picture Palace: The Snail and the Whale and Alice in Wonderland
Part of the Tiny Ideas Festival. View these absolutely cracking children’s films from different eras. Lovely to hunker down in a cosy cinema when it’s chucking it down outside. Includes a free themed craft session.

🩷 Witney in Pink: 25th Year Anniversary
Witney turns pink in support of Against Breast Cancer again! Each September, the Witney in Pink Action Group transforms the town with thousands of pink balloons, decorations, and community events – raising vital funds for research into the prevention, earlier diagnosis, and treatment of secondary breast cancer. The absolute highlight is the Pink Car Parade!

🔭 History of Science Museum: How Does it Work
Get hands-on with the collection and experience fascinating objects in action. There’s SEND-friendly backpacks too which are designed to help children explore science stories through hands-on activities. There’s also family scavenger trails and ingenious scientific devices to get your hands on.

🌿Kates Place at Florence Park: Community engagement day
I’ve posted about this wonderful place before, the legacy of Kate Jury, a director of The Nature Effect CIC and much-loved local garden designer and activist. At this community engagement day there will be family-friendly activities such as open-fire cooking, pond dipping, bird feeder making, and nature art.

🪡Wild Boor Ideas: Stitched stories
Part of the Tiny Ideas Festival. An intergenerational puppet making workshop and mini show. Aimed at 3-8 year olds and their adults. Watch a little stitched puppet story then work together with your adult to make a puppet with fabric, threads and your imagination! Use tying, knotting and simple stitching and make your own lovable fabric friend (suits all abilities).

📚The Story Museum re-opens
The Story Museum has re-opened after being closed for a few weeks for maintenance. Is it time to discover this most unusual museum? There’s something for everyone here from the galleries to their early years offer, Small Worlds. So interactive and includes the brand-new gallery exploring the world of gaming and storytelling! The access-friendly day is the 4th October, there will be adjusted lighting and and sounds and limited tickets to keep numbers small. Their video really captures the magic.
