Small Worlds at The Story Museum

Small Worlds at The Story Museum

Date of Adventure: 1 Feb, 2024

The Small Words sessions at The Story Museum is their magical early years offer. It’s especially designed for pre-school children and is so interactive and fun. The big airy room is split into 5 story themed zones and children explore each interactive zone with their grown ups – it’s full of sensory delights to keep little hands busy as well as toys and props relating to each story theme.

Your little one can:

🐘Meet Elmer the elephant
🐻Go on a Bear Hunt
🍥Discover Traction Man’s under-sink world
🌙Relax in the Night Safe,
🚌Ride on the Story Bus

Sessions are structured, starting with a special song together at the beginning followed by the week’s featured story told by a Story Guide with lots of opportunities for joining in. Check the different themes on the Story Museum website so you can plan ahead with your visit. Children and their grown-ups are then free to explore the story-themed zones for the rest of the session before a final story and goodbye song. Don’t forget a bounce on the HUGE bed, it’s actively encouraged! Sessions also include a craft activity too and on Fridays this activity will be messy play so please dress accordingly!

The 14:15 session Tuesdays – Fridays during term time are half price.

Why not wonder up to Modern Art Oxford whilst you are there – it’s about 100m away on the same street – and check out their Creative Space!

Did you

Know?

The Oxford Canal starts at Hythe Bridge, just a few minutes from the city centre and railway station. Built over 200 years ago, dug by hand, it flows north out of the city, through Banbury, and all the way to Coventry.

Feel free to buy me a (strong!) coffee, it will help fuel my adventures near and far. Support can come in many form though: sharing my website in your school WhatsApp group or liking a Facebook post is equally appreciated.
