Enjoy free entry to Waddesdon Manor grounds between January 10th – February 8th. Walks to go on, stunning views to see and nature to connect with. The beautifully landscaped grounds of Waddesdon are yours to explore for free. Just a reminder that the playground is currently closed for refurbishment and will re-open in the Spring.

Between January 10th – 8th February the grounds are open 10am-3pm on Saturdays and Sundays only.

Throughout January, local residents can enjoy 30% off guided tours. Definitely worth a visit! I went recently on a year 2 school trip there and the children were absolutely captivated! Climb the 101 steps of St. George’s Tower and enjoy the panoramic views of Oxford, descend into the candle-lit crypt and learn about the Castle’s connection with the legend of King Arthur. Our favourite? Exploring the 18th Century prison cells, home to poisoners, miscreants and desperate criminals. See website for qualifying postcodes.

Warwick Castle is a real medieval castle where you can climb towers, explore dungeons, watch knights joust and roam huge grounds, plus there’s a brilliant Zog-themed adventure area for little ones. 🤍National Garden Scheme: St Edmund Hall snowdrops

It’s time. Get ahead of the snowdrop game with your first visit to St Edmund Hall to see the snowdrops in their splendour. I’ve never actually been here to see the snowdrops but I hear that’s its a good show and an annual tradition of many a garden fan.

🦕Oxford Natural History Museum: Science Saturday

Meet scientists to investigate real natural history specimens from the collection. Hands-on science-based activities where families can explore a range of topics including insects, fossils, skeletons and microscopes. Touch real specimens and try investigating like a scientist.

🐏 Oxford City Farm: Wassailing

Celebrate an old English tradition of awakening the trees… with a firepit and lots of singing and noise creating – children will love it! A beautiful way to connect to the land. The community farming session is still on from 10am so you can meet all the animals before a wassail wail.

Need some nature? Find it at Nature Day at Kate’s Place in Florence Park. There will be nature-based crafts, willow weaving, a fire circle and lots of opportunities to engage with the nature around you.

🎥 Ultimate Picture Palace: Kino Kids Club

Brave. Love the story of this flame haired warrior! Kino Kids Cinema Club screenings are relaxed, meaning that the sound will be turned down a notch, and the lights will be up a little, and they don’t mind if people make a bit of noise or move around during the film. The UPP sells food and drink, but do feel free to bring your own lunch if that suits you better. Colouring-in sheets and other crafts will be available before the film, so do head down early to enjoy those.

🧱 Tap Social: LEGO Movie screening and buildalong 

A family-friendly film screening at Tap Social’s Botley taproom of the Lego Movie. There will also be lots of Lego blocks to build-along with the film. Feel free to bring your own lego too!
