💦 Hinksey Pool re-opens
It’s time! OK, it’s also blooming raining and freezing BUT our time will come friends and soon(ish) it will be sunny and we will be dipping our toes in again at Costa Del Hinksey. They have also introduced half day and 2 hour sessions, which is great to see and much asked for. They have also introduced a weekday SEN session.

🐷Sandy Lane Farm Open Day
A fun packed day on the farm. Includes Tractor Trailer rides (£), family activities with Farmability, BBOWT, sheep shearing demo and the chance to explore the garden, meet the growers and fill your face with delicious food! Love this place so much, a brilliant, authentic farm experience for children.

🤖Robot Wars at Tap Social
We went to this back in January and it was absolutely brilliant! Used to love the TV show and this is a really up-close experience with robot war fans crowded around the arena – it’s high stakes stuff! All the robot paraphernalia is out on the tables (fascinating!) and you can grab a pizza from the van out front. Hugely popular with families!

💻Oxford Westgate Library: Code Club
Free coding sessions for children using Scratch. Learn how to make your own games! Perfect for children interested in coding, gaming and STEM. No experienced required. My boys have been to this multiple times and loved it! For 8 – 13 year olds.

🚲Oxford Wheels Project: Beginners and Improvers BMX Coaching Sessions
If you have never been to the Meadow Lane Skate Park then get yourself down there pronto; it’s open from 10am until dusk and is run by volunteers of the Oxford Wheels Project. They do all sorts of coaching there from Beginners BMX to Skateboarding for children and adults. The bowl has a lot of bumps and corners to pump around and there’s a good selection of obstacles. The sessions on Saturdays are for beginners and improvers (two different sessions) and is supervised by experienced and sponsored BMX riders.

🌿Bridewell Gardens Open Day
The gardens will be alive with colour as the gates are thrown open to the public for one of their much anticipated open days. Children are most welcome for a run around the gardens and to meet the chickens. Pop-up café and acclaimed sparkling wine and plants for sale. Dogs on leads welcome.

🚂 Cutteslowe Miniature Railway
Such a lovely miniature railway experience and with the track extension it’s great value for money too. There is SO much to do at Cutteslowe park: numerous playgrounds, huge sandpit, free splash park (now open!), crazy golf, tennis courts, wildlife area, duck pond, beach volleyball court, café and more! It’s easily a whole day adventure!

🎵 JDP Family Cushion Concert
An introduction to different styles of music and instruments to children and their families. Bring your cushions to sit on and your best singing voice, dancing feet and clapping hands!

🎥 Ultimate Picture Palace: Kino Kids Club
Robin Hood – the old skool cartoon version. I do love the Kevin Costner one too – used to be obsessed with him – but this isn’t for us people, it’s for the kids! If you haven’t been before, Kino Kids it’s a relaxed affair and the sound will be turned down a notch, and the lights will be up a little, and they don’t mind if people make a bit of noise or move around during the film. The UPP will sell food and drink and provide free craft activities, but do feel free to bring your own crafts and/or lunch if that suits you better. 🍓Rectory Farm: PYO
PYO strawberries opened last weekend and the summer picking has began! Think overflowing punnets, red faces and full tummies! But Rectory Farm isn’t just about strawberries – there’s also a sweet play area, cafe and other PYO in season too. The ticketing system hasn’t kicked in yet so make the most of it. Keep an eye on the Rectory Farm socials as sometimes the strawberries are all picked out and they’ll announce it there.
