‘Tis the season to see snowdrops! You may have seen some peeking through already, or you may be planning where to go in the next few weeks when they are in full show. Whatever your plans, start with our snowdrop guide, because we love them as much as you do! Click on the headings for more info and pics.
Waterperry Gardens
They are out already! Waterperry is serious when it comes to snowdrops and you will find more than 60 different snowdrop varieties, double and single-flowered, carpeting the ornamental gardens, plus a spectacular show down by the walk along the River Thame. As well as the beautiful show of snowdrops, Waterperry is great for a run around with a visit to the play area after a must. If your little snowdrops are still full of beans after that then take them on the Waterperry – Waterstock walk for an added leg stretch.

Oxford Botanic Gardens
They were out very early here, already in full swing mid-Jan! You’ll see them popping up all over the place in the Botanic Gardens, with a fine show in the Walled Garden – the Garden’s oldest section. I cant help but get two in one on this list as the Botanic Garden’s sister site Harcourt Arboretum is also flush with snowdrops too.

Snowdrop Teas at St Botolph’s Church and Swyncombe Circular Walk
Stunning!! This is our go-to for snowdrops as the churchyard is absolutely carpeted in white. They havened announced the dates of their legendary Snowdrop Teas yet, but keep an eye on the website. The beautiful Swyncome Circular Walk starts at the church and the route itself passes along the Ridgeway National Trail, through fields, woodland and across the Swyncombe Estate with its sloping views of the Chilterns below.
🗓 Keep an eye on the church website for Snowdrop Tea info.
A little further afield?
Welford Park
Welford Park in Berkshire has an unbelievable show in their snowdrop woodlands, considered to be one of the finest in the UK. Take a look at the pictures on the website for the sheer scale of the white carpet! Open until 1st March 2026. Give it until mid-Feb to get the full spectacle.
Evenley Wood Gardens
We LOVE this place for its trails and adventure playground fun but they are also famed for their Snowdrop Days which kicked off in mid-January. Over 80 varieties popping up throughout the 60 acre woodland. Beautiful!
