The grounds and chapel of New College are an adventure that every visitor to Oxford should undertake – especially Harry Potter fans! The cloisters appear in the Harry Potter ‘Goblet of Fire’ film, one of many Oxford college locations that were used.
The New College gardens is famed for the 12th Century City Wall and long, spectacular borders, which are flush with a impressive array of brightly coloured flowers come the spring and summer months. And as you would expect, the green grass is tightly mown with oh so pleasing clipped corners.
Don’t leave without a visit to the chapel too, purposefully situated at the centre of the college to reflect its importance. It is quite breath-taking. The Choir of New College is internationally renowned and choral evensong in the chapel can be attended by members of the public; a true delight!
