The Cheese Shed

The Cheese Shed

Date of Adventure: 11 Mar, 2024

This is a sneaky little one! Hidden down a lane in Henley is The Cheese Shed, part of the Nettlebed Creamery and purveyor of the king of doorstop toasties, as big as your face and oozing with local cheese! And the cheese is good; the long list of awards is testament to this – get it in your face!

The set up here is a countryside lover’s dream with an open barn, indoor and outdoor tables and hay bales. There’s also a huge Connect 4, ball run (bring your own!) and various scavenger hunts which can be downloaded from The Cheese Shed website for little ones to enjoy. This is the nod and welcome that parents need, especially if yours (like mine) devour food on the move and need to constantly be on the go. Check out their events page for child friendly goings-on you can book into as well, including an Easter Bonnet Parade! It’s not only children that receive a warm welcome, dogs do too and there are ALOT of them, which I’m sure has something to do with the most excellent walkies on offer. There’s dog bowls aplenty and a doggy treats to make four-legged friends feel at home.

Numerous walks (and cycles) in the area start and finish at The Cheese Shed and you can either follow one from the website or make up your own route like us. If in doubt, follow the masses down the lane and across the field to the woodland then loop back on yourself. Don’t forget to stop in at The Shed Shop before you head home for more cheese, artisan breads, eggs, honey, pickles, kimchi, crackers, charcuterie and more.

Cheese and a good walk – where can you go wrong?!
