Located in the Sandford Lane Industrial Estate and housed in one of the fab, high-ceilinged warehouses, Proof is light, airy and spacious with pops of colour from a beautiful bright mural by super talented artist Lisa Curtis. The bakery has recently expanded into a mezzanine level and we can’t wait to see more as it evolves. It’s open plan so you can see right into the kitchen where all the baking magic happens.
Proof Social is a collaboration between Missing Bean Coffee and Tap Social and you can expect to find all your favourite things here: excellent coffee, sourdough bread, pastries, cakes, tray bakes and more. The cinnamon buns are my favourite: a sticky mess of gooeyness and joy. They even let you choose from the tray which one you want – anyone not immediately saying ‘the biggest’ needs to be chased by wolves straight out of town.
Team with a walk around Sandford Lock (only a few mins walk away), perfect for a sunny stroll.
If you are familiar with parent company Tap Social’s ethos, you will know that social justice is at the heart of what they do and Proof Bakehouse is an important strand of that, offering paid training and employment to people currently in prison and to recent prison leavers.
