Did you know there’s a walk in Oxfordshire where dinosaur history began?
It’s not every day you stroll past the site of the first scientifically named dinosaur… well, not unless you’re in Stonesfield, Oxfordshire.
6 children, a dinosaur site, a Roman villa and some pub chips (always, you know us!). Not your average weekend stroll, but a superbly interesting one!
🛝We started at Stonesfield playground (great play area and free parking)
🚶♀️Wandered through the gorgeous village
🦕Marvelled at the Stonesfield dinosaur find site
💦Passed a popular summer swimming spot (always check Surfers Against Sewage before getting in anywhere!)
🥾Stomped through fields and over bridges
🧱Nosed around the North Leigh Roman Villa
🍺Pit-stopped at The White Horse on the way back for pub chips and lemonades
This is the walk that inspired us – ours was slightly different (playground and pub stop) but it’s a great starting point.
