Bishop’s Court Farm

Bishop’s Court Farm

Date of Adventure: 14 Jun, 2023

Love this place!

It was such a surprise when we found it hidden off the beaten track in Dorchester – I think the locals have been keeping this gem to themselves!

This working farm is filled with farm animals galore (including brilliantly opinionated alpacas!), walks and a gateway to Wittenham Clumps. The alpacas are something else, they really have very strong personalities, and we also loved the horses, pigs, cheeky goats and sheep. Make sure you keep an eye on the website come March as they hold really good lambing events too. To find the animals and footpaths walk past the cafe, turn left then left again and that will take you to the alpacas and paths.

The farm is vast and you can walk around the lakes or follow the path to Wittenham Clumps, which you will see in the distance. Bring a blanket and picnic for a sit down with stunning views. I love a surprise adventure, never more so that when it’s totally free!

Oh, and if you want to take the ridiculous to the next level then book in for alpaca walking – we did and it was the joy we didn’t know we needed!

Kingston Bagpuize Millennium Green was bought by the Kingston Bagpuize Millennium Trust using National Lottery money, and is run by volunteers from the village. It will never be built on, the village owns it forever and will keep on using it as a sanctuary for all.
