We still talk about this humongous walk we went on a few years ago – we were surrounded by beautiful countryside, stunning views of the Oxford spires and, for my boys, mud! We got lost, my battery ran out on my phone and I fell in a puddle – but it was great fun.
We followed the Oxford Preservation Trust circular walk, which took us about 3 hours with lots of stopping to look at nature, puddle jumping and a few detours. It was definitely an adventure: we ran so fast down Boars Hill our feet hardly touched the ground, stomped through fields, meandered through woodlands, squelched through muddy bridleways, took leaps up the giant steps to the Jarn Mound, splashed through puddles up to the top of our wellies and rolled down hills until we were dizzy. Talking of wellies, wear some as this walk can be very muddy!
Baby Routes has a blog post on this walk here with very detailed directions and options of how to shorten it; worth a read if you have young walkers.
