Farmoor Countryside Walk

Farmoor Countryside Walk

Date of Adventure: 25 Mar, 2026

Have you ever tried the Countryside Walk at Farmoor reservoir? It follows the perimeter of the reservoir and passes through three nature reserves!

Stop off for a bite  to eat at the Waterside cafe – tasty as heck but dogs not allowed – then get walking the 4 mile route around the, clearly signed route. We went in March and the blossom was stunning!

As dogs aren’t allowed on the main Farmoor reservoir loop, this is the go-to for dog walkers but there’s plenty of walkers and runners without dogs out there too. It can get muddy in places when it’s been raining but when it’s dry you can walk it in trainers and it’s buggy friendly too.

If you want to walk around the reservoir itself that’s also nice – albeit blustery – and great with a pushchair peloton. I spent many an hour doing this on my maternity leave!

Keep an eye of their Facebook page for events and activities for families over Easter.
