Holton playground

Holton playground

Date of Adventure: 25 Jun, 2023

Holton is such a nice little village with lots of twee cottages and interesting houses, it will make you want to pack up for village life ASAP.

The playground is situated in an old orchard, it’s really beautiful and definitely a place that the that the adults will appreciate too so do bring a full picnic basket to enjoy at the picnic table! The play equipment is one of those natural playscapes that ticks so many boxes for big and small: explorative play, risky play, free play – and the designers of this play equipment have played with the big kids: Eden project, Kew Gardens children’s garden and Bewilderwood to name a few.

Check out the pics of the huge bit of apparatus with so many ways to play! Wobbly bridge, climbing nets and logs, slide, balance ropes, tyre balance, fireman’s pole, platforms, ladders and more! There’s also swings and musical instruments too. This is a summer dream you will want to be part of – a gorgeous natural playground within an orchard within a lovely local village. People of Oxford: grab a picnic and play!

Tracey Emin’s first British exhibition since 1997 was at Modern Art Oxford in 2002 and drew together the artist's now iconic neon wall hangings, drawings, etchings, film works, and a large scale sculpture installation of a pier and shack made from reclaimed timber.
