After a £315,000 investment, this re-vamped park certainly has the WOW factor! There is a large fenced play area with over 15 pieces of really interesting equipment designed for children aged 2-14 years, a new MUGA, new BMX pump track, carousel, shelters and benches. It re-opened in December 2022 so still has that shiny feel!
There is quite a lot of up to date and interesting and interactive equipment: an anthill that you talk through, flowers that you bash with a mallet for different sounds, toadstools which you can hop from one to another, a climbing octagon (we tried but couldn’t get to grips with this). The crowd pleasers are there too: ground trampolines (x 2) wobbly bridge, swings, climbing towers and slides and an obstacle course. And it’s all so bright and fresh too.
The MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) is so new you could eat your dinner off it, and as it was empty we enjoyed a little cycle around it and shot a few hoops together.
We had a loop around the small pump track and skatepark, great for balance bikers too, before heading home after 2 hours. It was empty when we were there but it gets busier on weekends and match days as it’s right next to Sutton Courtenay Youth FC.
The only thing this is missing is a café and toilets, which are only available in the clubhouse on match days. This is a great park for a mix of ages and moves into my top 5.
