Towersey play area and playing fields

Towersey play area and playing fields

Date of Adventure: 12 Mar, 2023

What a corker! This gem has a seven acre field plus fenced off play area with a wide selection of equipment and apparatus, including an assault course! The big equipment reminds us of Forest Hill park, with a main castle-style frame that services a cargo net, climbing wall, sliding pole, tunnel, climbing ramp and den. The assault course which runs next to it is full of balancing and climbing obstacles, some which little ones can try independently. There is a seesaw, with room enough for 2 both ends, plus swings for big and small including a rope nest swing.

The equipment aimed at little ones includes a little castle with ramp, cargo net, swing and den, plus a gorgeous little wooden tractor and trailer complete with steering wheel. Don’t pull the short straw and end up being the sheep herded into the trailer and forced to baa like a sheep. Definite violation of the Animal Welfare Act!

The picnic benches are good for a lunch pit stop, or take your picnic and a blanket to the fields. If you are lucky enough to go when grass is freshly mown, it will leave you with definite Wimbledon tennis vibes! It’s game, set, and match to this wonderful play area.

Did you

Know?

Tracey Emin’s first British exhibition since 1997 was at Modern Art Oxford in 2002 and drew together the artist's now iconic neon wall hangings, drawings, etchings, film works, and a large scale sculpture installation of a pier and shack made from reclaimed timber.
