Wychwood Wild Gardens

Wychwood Wild Gardens

Date of Adventure: 5 Jun, 2023

Behind the wrought iron gates lies an avenue, and beyond that the magic begins. The sound of running water will lead you to ponds and canals which flow over three waterfalls and eventually into the Evenlode. The 12.5 hectares of avenues, woods and ponds are packed full of wildlife and the paths will lead you around woodland as children seek out trees to climb, stumps to bounce off and hills to tear down. So much space to run, climb, jump and explore!

The highlight always seems to be the little stream which connects the two main ponds: children gather and sticks are raced with joyous abandon. The  wildness not only lies in the gardens but the children who visit it too.
