🎉Westgate: Sobell House 50th Anniversary 

We all feel so grateful for the work that Sobell House does. They are celebrating 50 years of compassionate care with a day packed full of fun at the Westgate. There will be classic funfair games like hook a duck and spin the wheel, plus, shopping stalls, a photobooth, a live performance from Sol Samba, music from Get Radio, plus lots more!

🌿Oxford City Farm: Big Green Week Finale 

Oxford Green week finishes up with a big celebration at Oxford City Farm. There will be insect ID-ing, art and craft activities badge-making, a surplus food pop up and more alongside the usual animal petting opportunities.

💜 Cotswold Lavender 

It opened early! Cotswold Lavender was due to open in a few weeks but they’ve opened early this year. The ‘peak’ isn’t for a few more weeks (from 26th June onwards) but they post regular updates on their Facebook page so you can have a peek at what the lavender is looking like.

🦕 Museum of Natural History: Science Saturday 

Meet scientists to investigate real natural history specimens from the collection. Hands-on science-based activities where families can explore a range of topics including insects, fossils, skeletons and microscopes. Touch real specimens and try investigating like a scientist. We went to this last Saturday and it was really blooming interesting!

🧭Thames Valley Orienteering: University Parks 

Big fans of this Saturday series and easy access to orienteering for all the family, especially when it’s set in one of our fave places: University Parks. For families either the Yellow or Orange course is recommended. For families with young children, the White course is recommended. Great fun for the kids.

🥳Tyndale School Sumer Fete

The fetes are coming thick and fast – big up the PTA parents crawling to the end of term! Trampolines, sumo wrestling, face painting, bric a brac, tombola, games, beat the goalie, lollies and ice cream, crafts and much more!

🌱Cutteslowe Greenhouse: Bug Hotel Building 

Help construct a large bug hotel in the orchard using pallet. These bug hotels support pollinators and boost biodiversity. A visit to one of the many playgrounds after is always a good idea!

🐞 Bridewell Gardens Open Day 

The gardens will be alive with colour as the gates are thrown open to the public for one of their much anticipated open days. The beautiful  gardens provide the ideal opportunity for children to see a wide range of plants, fruit and veg, spot dragonflies and newts in the pond, and count the chickens roaming the vineyard.

🍃Nature Day at Kate’s Place

A chance to connect with nature via family-friendly activities such as open-fire cooking, pond dipping, bird feeder making and nature art. It’s free to attend and everyone is welcome.

💨 Wheatley Windmill open day

A lovely local windmill experience! One of only two working windmills in Oxfordshire – don’t miss this opportunity to climb to the top and savour the views! The mill is dated to at least 1671 and was left in various states of ruin before being restored by a dedicated group of volunteers: Wheatley Windmill Restoration, then Preservation, Society. Come hungry because fundraising coffee, tea and cakes are on offer!

🎥 UPP Kino Kids: Muppets Treasure Island

As always at Kino Kids, it’s a relaxed affair and the sound will be turned down a notch, and the lights will be up a little, and they don’t mind if people make a bit of noise or move around during the film. The UPP will sell food and drink and provide free craft activities, but do feel free to bring your own crafts and/or lunch if that suits you better.
